BRISTOL WHOLESALE FRUIT AND FLOWER MARKET - Google Maps

A number of people have asked for directions to the wholesale flower market at Bristol. It is quite easy to find and I have added a google map link for you below. Sadly due to the recession there aren't as many vendors as there once were, however those that are still there are very good. They also sell lots of high quality plants but you usually have to buy them by the tray, great if you are doing a lavender hedge or lots of tubs of geraniums.

also a really good florist sundries wholesaler is SPF on chapel street round the corner from the flower market. you can get all of your oasis/vases / candles as well as any number of other goodies here.
Alice if you email me I can give you some info on which places I would buy from and where to avoid.

  3. I came across your site looking for info about buying flowers in Bristol. I know about the market - but my local grocers told me that I can't get stuff there as I'm not a trade customer ... is this true? Do you know? I've got my wedding coming up in three weeks and I was all planned about sending my mum off to buy the flowers for me from the wholesale market - but now I'm confused as I'd have to buy them bulk from elsewhere if I can't get them at the market!

By the way, LOVELY blog :)

Would be really grateful for any more info you have. Thanks. Jan (PS You should be taking a commission from them!)

  12. I am also doing flowers for a wedding and am wondering if I need to be a trader. Any info on general members of the public buying flowers gratefully recieved

  13. hi everyone. no you don't need to be a trader, but it does help if you know what you are looking for, and have some knowledge of flowers. lilies will be sold tight closed for you to condition, so you need to allow time for them to open. you need to pay in cash or cheque - no cards. you also need to get there early - before 7am. i would always reccommend that of you live closeby that you should go and have a look around first and get a feel for prices and what you want. if anyone has any direct questions feel free to email us hardakerandpope at googlemail . com thanks sarah

  20. Thankyou for all your advise. I went to the flower market this morning to buy flowers for my cousins wedding on Saturday, there were two flower stalls. I ended up buying the flowers from Brunel Flowers, someone had said they only take cheques or cash but they take cards & cash, they didn't mind at all that I wasn't a trader and they were very helpful. Definately worth getting there early, I arrived at about 7.15 which was fine but by the time I left an hour later a lot of the flowers had been sold. You also need to wear a high visability jacket, luckily someone had told me that so I had taken one along but if you don't have one you have to buy one.
